Introducing Occupational Therapy Hybrid Therapy

Updated: Aug 4, 2023

We are excited to announce that our Occupational Therapy (OT) service has commenced providing Hybrid Therapy to people living in rural and remote parts of Victoria, giving these communities unprecedented access to difficult to obtain OT services.

What is Hybrid Therapy?

Hybrid Therapy is a therapeutic approach that brings together the best of teletherapy and in-person/face to face interventions. A teletherapy appointment with an OT is an appointment conducted electronically via a video meeting platform. The initial appointment usually occurs via teletherapy, which will assess the client’s needs and assist in the development of therapy goals and service plans. Subsequent appointments will be a combination of face to face and teletherapy, depending upon the client’s goals.

Our OT Hybrid Therapy services cover a wide range of interventions including;

  • Functional Capacity Assessments

  • Aid & Equipment Prescription

  • Home Modifications

  • Vehicle Modifications

  • Upper Limb Rehabilitation

  • Capacity Building

  • SIL/SDA Assessments

Benefits of Hybrid Therapy

  • Accessible to people who live in rural and remote parts of Victoria

  • Reduced costs associated with travel for both the client and therapist

  • Ease of use

  • High flexibility in scheduling appointments
