We work collaboratively with children, parents, carers, educators and other treating professionals to provide practical, individualised support that reflects each child’s goals and needs.

Community-Based Paediatric OT Services

We offer assessments, intervention and practical strategies to support children in their everyday environments. Our services include:

• OT assessments and reports: Understanding your child’s strengths, everyday challenges and support needs to guide recommendations and intervention.

• Fine motor and daily living skill development: Supporting skills for activities such as play, drawing, dressing, managing fasteners and everyday routines.

• Sensory assessments and recommendations: Exploring how sensory needs affect everyday activities and recommending practical strategies to support participation.

• School and kindergarten visits: Working with educators to understand your child’s needs and recommend strategies that support participation in their learning environment.

• Home-based OT assessments and intervention: Supporting skill development, independence and participation within your child’s daily activities and home routines.

• Assistive technology and equipment: Assessing, trialling and recommending equipment to support your child’s independence, safety and comfort.

• Parent, carer and educator education: Providing practical strategies to support your child’s development and put recommendations into practice across everyday settings.

 

Specialised Aids and Equipment Prescription

We provide assessments, equipment trials and prescription to meet the individual needs of children and their carers. Where a child already has a treating paediatric OT or other therapists, we work collaboratively to ensure equipment recommendations complement their existing supports.

Equipment may include wheelchairs, customised walkers, commode chairs, seating aids, hoists and slings, beds and mattresses, pressure care equipment, and vehicle seats and harnesses.

Home, School and Vehicle Modifications

We measure, assess and prepare a scope of works for modifications that improve access and safety. These may include:

• Home modifications: Changes to access areas, bathrooms and bedrooms, including ceiling hoists.

• Vehicle modifications: Changes to support wheelchair accessibility.

• School environmental modifications: Access improvements such as ramps and handrails.

 

Where We Provide Services

We offer home and community-based services, including school and kindergarten visits. Clinic-based and telehealth appointments are also available, depending on the service and your child’s needs.
