This is not what I wanted to be writing about today. I had just nearly finished putting together a blog post welcoming everyone back to exercise classes and being thankful for the return to normality when “pow” we are hit again with further COVID-19 restrictions.
It was fantastic to have our exercise classes running again (even if it was for only a couple of weeks). Everyone who attended the groups were very positive and thankful to have exercise back in their life and it was a pleasure to be able to help.
We loved catching up with our clients and hearing about how people spent the isolation. Some did fantastic with their exercise and were very motivated while others had good intentions but struggled to take the first step.
We had great feedback about our exercise videos on YouTube and a lot of people started their isolation period active. However, as evidence from the views on each video people started to lose motivation the longer the isolation period lasted. Video 1 = 600 views, Video 2 = 450 views, Video 3 = 300 views ……… Video 11 = 35 views.
We plan to get out the make-up and spot lights over the next week to start producing new exercise videos for people to follow along with. Please send us photos and videos of you completing your exercise at home so we can praise your efforts.

The clients who came back to exercise classes the fittest and strongest were definitely the few who continued to attend Active One for individual exercise sessions. Everyone knows that having someone guide and push you through your exercises always achieves greater outcomes than trying to do it alone. Thank you to those who continued to exercise with us at Active One and thank you to those who have already booked in over the next 6 weeks.
If you found it difficult to exercise at home and by yourself over the last restriction period please consider coming in for some individual or small group training. Especially now that the weather is not as warm and getting outside for walks is not as inviting. We want to make sure all of our clients are in the best health possible during these challenging times.
